The government has recently launched a pilot scheme offering businesses £3,000 vouchers to connect to gigabit broadband speeds. This is very similar to the previous Government Superconnected broadband scheme which closed in 2015, however as an indication of how critical fast and reliable broadband has now become to businesses the minimum speed required under the scheme has increased to 100Mbps over a 1Gb capable connection.
We are great advocates of this scheme; Superfast broadband has a proven track-record with increasing business's profitability by creating new opportunities, connecting with existing and new customers – and it can cope as your business needs develop and grow. And to receive £3,000 to pay for this upgrade is a fantastic opportunity not to be missed.
The previous Government Voucher scheme was a great success, as I reported in an earlier article, which you can read here.
Just now this new scheme is only available to the areas listed below, and we are yet to hear whether further cities will be added in the coming months.
If you are in one of the following areas then please get in touch to find out how we can help you get your £3,000 voucher today to get connected.
The 4 areas are:
* Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire
* Bristol, with Bath and North East Somerset
* Coventry and Warwickshire
* West Yorkshire Combined Authority (Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield and York)

The Government has unveiled a £2m trial that offers vouchers worth between £500 to £3,000 to help businesses in four areas around the United Kingdom to get a Gigabit (1000Mbps+) broadband service installed, which is focused on helping to extend “full fibre” (FTTP) infrastructure.
