Within the telecoms industry you'll often hear professionals refer to parts of the Openreach network in many situations. This includes such areas as the green cabinet, telephone pole and telephone exchange.
If you have ever wondered what these look like on the inside, Openreach has recently released a series of 360 degree videos; one of which showcases a rare look inside a UK telephone exchange.
This offers an interesting insight into the telecoms infrastructure being used to provide your business with its telephone and broadband service and is a hopeful indication of a more open direction for Openreach in its newly independent status.
These 360-degree videos, according to an Openreach press release, are part of a recruitment drive: the soon-to-be-separated company says it wants to hire and train 1,500 new engineers, with the hope of reducing the time it takes to install and fix problems on the network.
