Broadband adverts will become clearer from May after research found "misleading" advertising meant three in four customers could not work out the true cost of a deal. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is set to bring in tighter rules around advertising after finding that providers were confusing customers. The study carried out jointly by ASA and Ofcom, the telecoms regulator, found the majority of consumers were unable to work out the total monthly cost of a broadband deal based on advertising
